Venezuela referred to the ICC Prosecutor

Since February 2018, the ongoing situation in Venezuela has been the subject of a Preliminary Examination by the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. On 26 September 2018, however, a coalition of States Parties to the Rome Statute referred the Venezuelan situation to the ICC, requesting an investigation into the possible commission of crimes against humanity committed under the Maduro government.
