The sixth annual APCL Command and Staff Operations Law Course was conducted at HMAS Penguin in the period 8-19 October 2007. A feature of this year’s course was the greater than usual percentage of participants from overseas armed forces. As well as ADF officers and a Defence civilian participating in the course, the following countries were represented: Bahrain; Cambodia; Jordan; Indonesia; Malaysia; New Zealand; Oman; the Philippines; Thailand; Tonga; and, the UK. Perhaps this diversity contributed to the exceptionally positive mood created during this course.
Another feature of the course, and thankfully this is a traditional feature, was the high calibre of presenters with BRIG Paul Symon and BRIG Kevin Riordan (Director General NZ Defence Legal Services) headlining the presenter team.
The expertise and generosity of the legal officers and general service officers who contributed this year’s course is greatly appreciated by APCML staff.
The 2008 Command and Staff Operations Law Course is expected to be conducted in the period
13-24 October 2008.
